Photo exhibition on Ukrainian resistance opened at Strasbourg Square

On Friday, November 18, Luxembourg City alderman Maurice Bauer and Polish Ambassador Piotr Wojtczak opened the «Resistance Portraits / Ukraine 2004-2022» exhibition at Place de Strasbourg in Luxembourg City.

Polish photographer Yustina Melnikevich is the winner of numerous international awards, including the prestigious World Press Photo. For more than fifteen years, Yustina has been photographing Ukrainian realities. The Russian invasion caught her during another expedition to Ukraine.

The photographer captured the first weeks of the war in Lviv, Kyiv and the Dnieper region. Yustina filmed the faces of Ukrainian civilians facing war. According to the organizers of the exhibition, Yustina Melnikevich’s photographic evidence is a symbol of support for Ukraine and an act of commitment to bold, fair media coverage in a time of disinformation.

The exhibition on Place de Strasbourg is free of charge and open to the public until mid-January 2023.
