Trains from Belgium to Luxembourg to stop due to strike

On Wednesday, October 5, it will be almost impossible to get from the Belgian Arlon and Atus to Luxembourg by train. Railway operator SNCB announced stopping its trains online.

The movement on Belgium-Luxembourg routes will stop today at 10 pm. The reason for the stop is a workers’ strike.

The vast majority of trains, about 75%, will not run. This includes additional trains during rush hour.

Here are the only routes that will continue to operate:

  • Lièges – Guillemins – Gouvy – Luxembourg intercity train.
  • S19 Brussels Airport-Zaventem-Bruxelles-Luxembourg-Boondael-Nivelles-Charleroi-Sud suburban train.

However, even they won’t be active throughout the entire day.

So far, nothing is known about any temporary bus routes on the day of the strike. SNCB has not taken any steps in this direction, but offers alternative railroad routes on its website.
