Russia announced partial mobilization

On September 21, Vladimir Putin issued a decree on partial mobilization. According to the order, 300 000 reservists will be called up to «protect the Russian territory.»

In the past few weeks, the Ukrainian army has managed to significantly strengthen its positions. The reaction to this was hasty preparations for referenda in the Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The UN General Assembly said it would not recognize these «bogus» ceremonies.
