Before buying a car, it is better not to rush. If the issue is not too acute and you have time to consider various options, it is recommended to do so.

Luxembourg offers a wide variety of both model range and engine types: from standard internal combustion engine to hybrid and electric cars. The key difference between the latter is that, in addition to being more environmentally friendly, they offer the possibility of receiving a subsidy from the state, but we will come back to that.

ICE
The most common variant
Electric car
The most environmentally friendly option, often more expensive
Hybrid
Combines the two previous variants

New car

The advantages of a new car are obvious: neat appearance, the latest parts from the factory, manufacturer's warranty and so on. A new car can become a bright and memorable event in life, a gift to yourself (or a dear person). However, there are also disadvantages. A new car loses its value very quickly, and the price itself can be quite biting.

Used car

This option can be much more budget-friendly, especially since many models feel great even after a hundred thousand kilometres of mileage. However, such a car requires more careful attention to details, as many of them are already worn out by this point, and you no longer have the manufacturer's warranty.

One of the most convenient ways to search for a car are annual festivals. At this time, you can either catch favourable offers from official dealers or, if it is a used car festival, you can find a rare and interesting variant.

The Auto Festival is a large-scale event held annually at the end of January - beginning of February. During this period, dealerships usually provide themselves with 30-40% of annual revenue, offering lucrative discounts on the model range.

Each seller himself determines the dates of the festival in his salon, so check the information on the official websites of the brands you are interested in. It is worth noting that some dealers offer discounts even if you come a few days before the official festival.

Once you have decided on your choice, you need to legally seal the deal.

If you buy a new car, you don't have to worry about documents. The dealer will prepare everything for you. You will only have to sign the contract and complete the necessary procedures after the purchase.

If you have chosen a used car, the situation will be a little more complicated. The seller will need to be sure to prepare an invoice and also deregister the car. For more information on the process, see our guide to selling a car.

Registering your car is one of the most important steps. In essence, this procedure gives you the right to drive your vehicle on public roads.

The car registration process is quite complex and depends on many factors, so we strongly recommend that you carefully study the issue in the relevant guide on our website.
