Europe will survive the current energy crisis, but developing countries will lose their gas and electricity stability

To replace increasingly less available (and desirable) Russian gas, Europe is buying fuel from other markets. The region will be able to survive the crisis thanks to this gas. But where does it come from? According to experts interviewed by Bloomberg, this is the gas that was previously intended for developing countries.

In fact, by buying this gas, Europe is «shifting» the crisis onto poorer countries. Thailand, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, for example, were almost completely cut off from their usual purchasing routes.

It is highly likely that developing countries will stop some of their production lines, face power and gas outages, as well as growing public discontent. There will be no quick fix for this. The crisis, according to experts, promises to drag on for a decade. And at least in the first four years of this decade, it will not be possible to normalize and stabilize energy supplies for developing countries.
