Luxembourg issues subsidies for the purchase of an electric bicycle

Subsidies of up to 600 euros for the purchase of an electric bicycle can be obtained after filling a form on the state portal guichet.public.lu. The one-time payment is available to all individuals residing in Luxembourg. This measure is supposed to help the residents of the Grand Duchy to switch to electric mobility.

You can receive subsidies within a year after buying an electric bicycle. To do this, you need to fill out an online form and attach a purchase receipt to it. The payment will cover 50% of the cost, excluding VAT.

Payments are allocated only for electric bikes. Electric scooters, hoverboards and monowheels can’t be subsidized. In Luxembourg, these vehicles are not considered a full-fledged mode of transport, but equipment for urban sports.
