The Luxembourg Water Administration (AGE) has lifted the ban on swimming and water recreation in Lake Haute-Sûre. The lake was previously closed due to a cyanobacteria bloom with elevated levels of toxins.
According to monitoring data from the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), the algae biomass has been drastically reduced due to the decrease in temperature and the toxicity of the water has been reduced below the limit values. Health risks from skin and digestive reactions have been eliminated.
AGE reminds you that up-to-date information on beach accessibility can be tracked at www.eau.public.lu.
