A chase, a jump into the Moselle and one fugitive: a robbery in Stadtbredimus turned into drama

An unusual scene played out on Thursday morning, 13 March, in Stadtbredimus, where police caught three burglars breaking into a residential building. The criminals tried to escape, but the police were quicker.
The first attacker was apprehended almost immediately. The second, in desperation, threw himself into the Moselle River, risking his life - but was rescued by the river navigation service. Wet but unharmed, he too was soon arrested.
The third managed to escape by getting into a car and heading towards Germany. Although a search has been launched, his whereabouts are still unknown.
Two detainees were arrested on the order of the prosecutor's office and the investigation is ongoing. Police have not yet specified what exactly the suspects were trying to steal or whether they are connected to other cases of burglary in the region.
