Detention on the A7: driver was travelling at 235 km/h

In Luxembourg, on the A7 motorway, police carried out a routine speed check on Sunday afternoon between 15:30 and 17:30. During the operation, police officers spotted a car travelling at 235 km/h, well above the permissible speed limit. The driver was immediately stopped, the driver's licence was confiscated and the vehicle was seized.
This was the most serious offence recorded during the raid, but a further 13 drivers were also fined for speeding more than 25km/h. They were each fined €145 and had two points taken off their driving licences.
In addition, during the inspection, another driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. This offence aggravated the situation and the driver will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
