Layoffs at Amazon Luxembourg have not been confirmed

The question about whether the information about the layoffs at Amazon Luxembourg is real was raised in Parliament. It was asked by a representative of the Pirate Party. Amazon has given official confirmation that there are no plans to lay off employees until the new year begins at least. The statement from the company was voiced by the Minister of Economics Franz Fayot.

Against the backdrop of 10 000 recent layoffs in the US offices of the company, this decision looks very optimistic. Moreover, the company does not even suspend hiring within Luxembourg, only reduces its pace. Amazon is one of the top 5 employers in the Grand Duchy with over 4000 employees.
