Bird flu in Useldange

An outbreak of bird flu was registered by veterinarians. The H5N1 virus was found in domestic geese. A number of measures have already been taken to prevent the spread of infection.

Owners of ducks, chickens and other birds are advised to close their flock in aviaries. Feeding should also be done in an isolated area and the roaming area for birds must be fenced with nets. It is extremely important right now to exclude any contact with wild birds.

In case of abnormal behavior, you should immediately contact your local veterinarian. Fortunately, eating meat or eggs of infected birds is not dangerous for humans.
