The company boasted impressive numbers: 28.7 million people used the company's trains during the year. This is almost 3 million more than in the peak year of 2019. At that time, CFL carriages transported a total of 25 million passengers.

The Luxembourg — Esch-sur-Alzette — Rodange line was the busiest, carrying a total of 9 million passengers. This is 36% more than in 2022.

The increase is even more significant compared to the first year of the pandemic. In 2020, the CFL carried almost half as many people — just 14.5 million. However, the new record will not last for long.

According to the company, passenger traffic is expected to increase until 2035 due to the introduction of additional seats in trains. By then, 34 new carriages will be put into service, which will allow 46% more passengers to be carried than at present.
