Wanteraktioun, or WAK, is an annual charity event that was created in 2021. The project combines the efforts of three organizations: Caritas Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Red Cross, and Inter-Actions. Its main objective is to meet the basic needs and problems of the homeless during the winter.

The day center is open from 12:00 to 16:00 and the night center from 19:15 to 8:45 hours. People who come in get a hot meal, a place to rest, warm up and change clothes. Showers are available in the detention centers.

In total, in the winter of 2022/2023, 214 applicants received almost 700 items of clothing, and another 1,128 different homeless people were served 15,249 meals. The numbers are similar for the nights: 1,310 people received 54,028 breakfasts and dinners during 150 nights.

The center provides social and integration assistance and refers people to medical institutions when they need help. The WAK will start on November 15th, to volunteer send an email to benevolat@draieck.lu or contact Rachel Olivero on +352 621 559 751.
