From 3 to 20 October 2024, Luxembourg will host the 17th CinEast Central and Eastern European Film Festival. The programme includes more than 120 screenings, including 65 feature-length and 45 short films from 20 countries, as well as meetings with filmmakers, debates, concerts and exhibitions. Special attention is paid to the focus programme on Croatia. The festival will open on 3 October with a screening of Scarborn by Polish director Pawel Maszlona. Tickets for the festival cost €9, with discounts and season tickets available.

The international children's literature festival Book On! will return to Luxembourg in October 2024. The event will take place over two weekends: 5-6 October at the Home St. Gengoul Cultural Centre in Merle and 11-13 October at the Paul Barblé Cultural Centre in Strassen. The programme includes readings, theatre performances, illustration workshops, a clown show and more for children under 12. The festival will feature authors from Luxembourg, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Italy and Catalonia.

The Good Guy?

English theatre company BGT will present a new play "A Good Guy?" at the Abbey Neumünster in Luxembourg from 4-6 October 2024. Ferelith Kingston's play, which received a special jury mention at Prix Laurent 2023, explores the impact of imposed gender norms on young people in the digital age. The protagonists, Dylan and Katie, face the real-life consequences of extreme online rhetoric, including misogyny and the 'incel' subculture.

City Party

Ville de Luxembourg has announced the second City Party for young people aged 12-17, which will take place on 5 October 2024 at Den Atelier from 19:00 to midnight. After a successful debut in April, this time guests will be treated to a performance by local DJs Edy Horvay, Nico Byler and DJ NOSI, as well as rapper SIXO. The event promises to be a vibrant evening of music for the young people of Luxembourg.
