The Fed raises key rates by 0.75%

The US Federal Reserve System is no slouch when it comes to toughness and swiftness in the fight against inflation. And it certainly doesn’t lag behind its European counterparts. This is the sixth key rate hike since March 2022. If in the spring the interest for the main rates was at 0.25% and 0.50%, now the figures have risen to 3.75% and 4%.

Markets immediately reacted to such growth. The Dow Jones lost 1.55%, the Nasdaq lost 3.36% and the S&P 500 lost 2.51%. Many exchanges hoped for a slowdown in key rate hikes or even a revision of monetary policy. However, now analysts are predicting another increase of 50-75 basis points. Thus, rates can grow up to 5% and gain a foothold at this mark.
