On 5 December 2024, American fast food chain Burger King opened its third restaurant in Luxembourg, located in the Auchan shopping centre at 5 Rue Alphonse Weicker. The establishment replaces seafood restaurant Amarine, which closed earlier this year. The new Burger King becomes the twelfth in the country, emphasising the brand's growing presence in the Luxembourg market since it first opened in 2017.

The restaurant's size is impressive: the 560 m² area has 184 seats inside and 66 on the terrace. Modern solutions await customers, including 12 digital ordering terminals, self-service beverage machines and table service.

Forty-five employees were hired for the new Burger King. The company also conducted an extensive recruitment campaign, offering positions for "crew members" to serve customers and perform tasks in the hall and kitchen, as well as "shift leaders" to lead shifts. A total of 60 jobs were created, highlighting the chain's contribution to the local labour market.

On the opening day, guests of the restaurant can try their luck by playing "Roulette of Fortune", where various gifts are given away. In addition, the menu features an improved version of the iconic Whopper burger.

The restaurant will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), offering a convenient schedule for diners.

The next phase of expansion is scheduled for 19 December, when another Burger King will open at Knauf Shopping Centre in Pommerloch, demonstrating the brand's ambitions to expand within Luxembourg.
