Luxembourg will have a new ATM network
The companies and banks Spuerkeess, Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL), BGL BNP Paribas, Banque Raiffeisen, POST Luxembourg, and ING Luxembourg announced on Tuesday, November 21, the creation of a new large-scale ATM network. The project is expected to be completed by 2025.
The new network will be managed by a company under the Bancomat brand. The initiative is designed to:
- Ensure accessibility and proximity of ATMs to be installed across the country, in both densely populated cities and small towns;
- Provide customers with access to modern and secure ATMs;
- Provide convenient access to ATMs for people with disabilities;
- Will help expand the services and features offered at ATMs.
The new ATMs are also designed to be environmentally friendly: it is expected that some features of the new machines will make it possible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. New special ATM technology will also reduce energy consumption by at least 30%.
