In 2022, the average salary in Luxembourg was 75,919 euro per year (before taxes), which is equivalent to 6,326 euro per month. However, salaries vary considerably by industry. The highest paid sectors are finance and insurance (113,018 euro) and education (111,362 euro). The lowest salaries continue to be found in hotels and restaurants ( 40,461 euro), administrative services ( 48,679 euro) and construction ( 49,587 euro).

The median salary in Luxembourg in 2022 is 58,126 euro per year (4,844 euro per month), showing a significant divergence between high and low incomes. 10% of workers will earn less than 33,110 euro per year, while the 10% of the highest paid will earn more than 135,797 euro per year. The wage inequality ratio has increased from 3.8 in 2010 to 4.1 in 2022.

Education plays a key role in income levels. Master's degree holders earn 53% more than those with only a secondary education. At the same time, unskilled workers earn 42% less than the average. From 2018 to 2022, the wages of unskilled workers will increase by 17%, while the income of directors and managers will increase by only 9%.

Firm size also affects wages. Large companies with more than 1,000 employees have 40% higher average salaries, up to 92,286 euro. This is due to the large number of highly skilled professionals in such organizations.
