CERI held an extraordinary meeting on 13 August due to the MeteoLux forecast promising a heat wave in the south of the country (up to 33-35°C, and in urban areas up to 36°C in some places).

The authorities reminded basic rules in hot weather: drink at least 1.5 litres of water a day, avoid going outside during peak heat hours (11:00-21:00), keep windows and curtains closed during the day and ventilate at night, wear hats and light clothing, limit physical activity, and take care of elderly and vulnerable people by helping them stay in cool places.

Although no new CERI meetings are planned, the situation will remain under constant monitoring by the responsible services. Details are available at www.infocrise.lu.
