Gala concert of laureates: soloists of a new generation perform with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Luxembourg

On Wednesday, 19 March 2025 at 20:00, at the Théâtre de l'Esch-sur-Alzette (Esch-sur-Alzette Theatre), a gala concert of laureates will take place at 8:00 p.m., where the best students from the three main music conservatories of Luxembourg - Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Alzette and Conservatoire du Nord - will present the result of their work to the public.
These young soloists were awarded the diploma supérieur at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year and will now perform with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg under the baton of conductor Giuseppe Mengoli.
They'll be on stage:
- Lucie Feuillen - piccolo flute
- Lisa Burke - academic vocals
- Mario Vander Linden - cello
- Gaja Suselj - violin
- Anna Touliankina - piano
The programme includes works by Liebermann, Handel, Mozart, Stolz, Elgar, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven - a rich repertoire that highlights the virtuosity and artistic maturity of the performers.
Among the works:
- Concerto for piccolo flute by Lowell Lieberman
- Arias from Handel and Mozart operas performed by Lisa Burke
- Elgar's Cello Concerto and Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto
- Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto is the highlight of the evening
The gala concert is organised by the Luxembourg Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, with the participation of the conservatories, the Philharmonic Orchestra and the city of Esch-sur-Alzette.
