Every four years, French-speaking young people from 93 countries meet at the Francophonie Games. This is not just a sporting and cultural event: the aim is to bring together young talents in a spirit of peace, development and solidarity. In 2027, the Games will be held in Yerevan, from 23 July to 1 August.

The Luxembourg Ministry of Culture has issued a call for applications for the Games' cultural competitions. Entries can be made in the following areas: song, digital art, choreography, short stories, painting, photography, sculpture/installation and theatre.

Who can apply

Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of the Games. They must speak French, have Luxembourg nationality (by birth or naturalisation at least 6 months before the start of the Games) and be willing to participate throughout the event. It is possible to participate individually or as part of a group; in some categories a chaperone (technician, choreographer, etc.) is allowed.

How the selection process works

Up to 30 competitors or groups will be selected for each discipline, to be decided by an international jury based on the dossiers submitted by the countries. If more than three entries per discipline are received from Luxembourg, a national selection will take place in January 2026. The final results will be published on 31 July 2026.

Prizes and prospects

Although participants do not receive honoraria, the jury awards medals (gold, silver, bronze) and special mentions. The winners can count on four years of support from the OIF (L'Organisation internationale de la Francophonie). In addition, the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture will award its laureates a prize of 2,000 euros.

How to apply

Dossiers must be submitted to the Ministry of Culture by midnight on 17 October 2025 by post or at international@mc.etat.lu. The dossier must include:

  • completed discipline materials (see links),
  • a copy of the ID card,
  • passport spread photo,
  • 35×45 mm colour photo,
  • CV with contact details.

All participation costs are covered by the organisers.
