Throughout 2026, Mudam Luxembourg will present a programme of performances entitled ‘A Journey’. Using the concept of travel as a metaphor, the series brings together artists working with cultural memory, technological progress and physical expression. The programme explores movement in all its forms within a city whose character is increasingly shaped by migration.
The project is curated by Léon Kruijswijk and Nicole Wittmann.
Ivan Cheng — «Casemates»
The programme opened in March with a new work by an Amsterdam-based artist, combining an interactive installation with a series of performances. The museum’s proximity to Luxembourg’s historic fortifications and casemates served as the starting point.
The next Pervomans concerts will take place on 2 May (4.30 pm) and 13 May (7.00 pm).
Sojung Jun — «I Do Nine-Tailed Fox»
The European premiere of a work by a Seoul-based artist, combining live music, archive footage and new film material. The performance explores the history of the Goryeo Theatre and the myth of the nine-tailed fox (kumihwa). Dates: 25 and 26 April 2026 (16:30).
Mohamed Toukabri — «Every-Body-Knows»
A dancer and choreographer from Brussels will present a spatial adaptation of his stage work. Within the museum setting, the performance transforms from a linear sequence of events into a constellation of physical interpretations unfolding across several spaces.
Dates: 16 and 17 May 2026 (4.30 pm) – to coincide with Luxembourg Museum Days.
SERAFINE1369 — ‘IV (for II)’
A London-based artist will present a work created specifically for the open spaces of the Mudam museum. The performance is described as a meditative interplay between instinctive rhythms and the passage of time.
Dates: 20 June 2026 (14:00 and 16:30).
In the second half of 2026, the ‘A Journey’ series will offer new discoveries and encounters, the details of which will be announced at a later date.
