Saarbrücken-Express: a Christmas journey back in time on a steam train

On 20 December - just a few days before Christmas - a real historical train with steam locomotive, the Saarbrücken-Express, will depart from Luxembourg. This day trip offers not just a ride, but a real nostalgic journey through the winter landscapes of the Mosel Valley.
The train will make stops at Wasserbillig, Igel and Konz before arriving at Saarbrücken's main station close to midday. Here passengers will find the famous Christmas market, one of the cosiest in the region. You can stroll amongst the wooden chalets, sample mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and traditional German treats, and buy handmade gifts.
The trip will be completed by sunset, with the return journey scheduled for late afternoon. A limited selection of drinks and snacks will be offered on board, adding to the cosiness of the journey.
