Withdrawal of dangerous goods from the market

The Luxembourg Environment Administration (Administration de l'environnement) issued a press release on the urgent recall of a number of non-food products from the consumer market. The main reason was exceeding permissible levels of toxic substances, including dangerous phthalates, lead and nickel, as well as non-compliance with labelling standards. The measures include a complete ban on sales and removal of products from the shelves.

One of the most worrying cases was the recall of four products containing excessive concentrations of DEHP phthalate. This chemical has long been under special control in the EU because of its ability to disrupt hormones and cause reproductive disorders. The list included:

  • ASD cordless screwdriver (EAN 4006274222953),
  • automatic charger (EAN 4045365118034),
  • fishing lure set (X001WE1WR1),
  • WASAGA soft lures.

All users are advised to stop using these products and return them to the point of sale. The hazard notices are available on the European Safety Gate portal under the numbers SR/03280/25, SR/03714/25, SR/02466/25 and SR/02474/25.

The metal men's watch My Time (EAN 8718969955058 and 8718969955065, models 23-0150-07 and 23-0150-08) has also been recalled. The reason for this is that the release level of nickel was exceeded. This metal can cause allergies and skin inflammations in case of prolonged contact. Both models are prohibited for sale and Safety Gate notices are placed under the numbers SR/02081/25 and SR/02084/25.

Next on the list was LOOLIFL adhesive (EAN 8133688391) and anaerobic adhesive 243 YZAN (EAN 7018777261). The problem is the lack of information on the packaging, which violates the European CLP regulation (on classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals). Also, the manufacturer did not notify the National Toxicological Centre, which is a mandatory procedure for all potentially dangerous chemical mixtures. Until the violations are corrected, the products are banned from sale. Safety Gate: OR/00058/25 and SR/01443/25.

The latter category includes popular consumer electronic devices:

  • Muarron overhead headphones (X001GIVCEV),
  • Mikikit mini stereo system (Model No. 4764695).

Excessive levels of lead have been detected in soldered headphones. The mini-stereo has been found to have exceedances of four toxic substances at once: DEHP, lead, cadmium and short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs), the last of which is considered a persistent organic pollutant and toxin. These substances can cause severe chronic diseases, including cancer.
