According to the Directorate of Health, 64 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Luxembourg during the week from 3 to 9 November 2025 (week 45), 29% fewer than the week before (97 cases).

The decrease is also confirmed by the results of wastewater analyses: the concentration of SARS-CoV-2 virus has also decreased.

Regarding the genetic variations of the virus, the XFG variant remains predominant (56.0%), followed by its subtype XFG.3 (29.8%). This confirms the continued circulation of new strains, although they are not yet causing sudden outbreaks.

The number of flu cases increased slightly from 25 to 39 cases during the week. 95% of cases were influenza A, which tends to be associated with more severe symptoms and more frequent hospitalisations. Influenza B occurred in only 5% of the analyses.

This may indicate the start of a rising seasonal wave and it is important to monitor the dynamics in the coming weeks, especially among vulnerable groups.

The incidence of RSV remains low, although there has also been a slight increase, with 38 confirmed cases compared to 35 a week earlier. RSV outbreaks tend to affect young children and can lead to serious complications, especially in infants.
