In August 2024, Luxembourg Customs officials carried out a successful operation, the result of which has only now been made public for investigative reasons. During an inspection of a vehicle registered in Luxembourg, the service dogs Gwen and Balto discovered 3.66 kg of cannabis hidden in two suspicious boxes.

The two men in the car denied the presence of illegal substances. However, the drugs were carefully packed in cellophane and hidden in boxes, which did not escape the keen sense of smell of the dogs.

Following the discovery of the shipment, authorities searched the suspects' residences. Dogs trained in the detection of drugs and explosives were used. During the search, an additional 800 g of cannabis, two firearms with ammunition and packaging materials used in drug trafficking were seized.

Both suspects were brought before an investigating judge, who ordered their detention. The confiscated drugs and weapons were handed over to the prosecutor's office.
