Fire in Mamer: one person died, cause is being determined

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening, 18 March, in the commune of Mamer. At around 21:25, a fire broke out in one of the rooms of a flat on the first floor of a residential building located on rue de Dublin. Rescue services arrived on the scene quickly and the fire was quickly contained.
However, while extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered the body of a deceased man. According to information released by the Luxembourg police on Wednesday morning, the identity of the victim has not yet been established. A forensic medical examination has been ordered by the prosecutor's office. The technical police are investigating the causes of the fire.
A representative of the prosecutor's office told L'essentiel that it is currently unknown who the victim was and how she ended up in the room at the time of the fire. All possible versions will be analysed during the investigation.
