The Luxembourg authorities have issued an official warning regarding a breach of food safety standards in relation to ‘Filet américain’ meat tartare sandwiches produced by Oberweis. The reason for the urgent notice was the possible presence of foreign glass fragments in the 200-gramme product.
According to confirmed information from Oberweis itself, a potentially hazardous batch has entered the retail market across the country. This concerns sandwiches with a best-before date of 12 August 2026. Given the obvious risk to public health, consumers are strongly advised to refrain entirely from consuming the products in question. An official warning has now been published on the government’s food safety portal, where shoppers can also view the current list of all recalled food products.
