On the night of 12-13 February, between 21:30 and 01:30, Luxembourg police conducted massive alcohol intoxication checks in Kayl, Tétange and Livange.
As part of the operation, 339 drivers passed an initial alcohol test, even if they did not show obvious signs of intoxication. Eight people failed the test, resulting in six protocols, two of which resulted in fines.
The three drivers were found to be so drunk that their driving licences were seized on the spot.
In addition, during a check in Livange, a driver was found to be driving under the influence of drugs. A separate report was made against him.
Luxembourg authorities are continuing to enforce strict controls on drink-driving, warning that regular roadside checks will continue.
