The Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) has issued an official warning to consumers regarding the risk of a salmonella outbreak. The recall covers brown eggs from free-range hens sold under the Econom and Everyday brands.

According to the regulator, the potentially contaminated products were available for sale between 15 April and 12 May 2026. The risk applies to packs containing 12 and 30 items. Salmonella bacteria can cause serious food poisoning, accompanied by fever and gastrointestinal disorders.

Given that the product has been on the shelves for some time, a significant proportion of it may already have been purchased by households. However, no reports of possible cases of illness among the public have been received as yet.
