CGDIS Rescue has released a report on the delay in emergency services that may have affected the outcome of a tragic car accident in Huldange. On 25 January 2025, a pedestrian was injured in the crash and died of her injuries the following day.

According to the report, the call came in to 112 at 18:07, and by 18:08 services were dispatched to Pommerloch, to the Knauf shopping centre. However, 10 minutes later, the crew found no accident and reported it to the emergency centre. Only after replaying the call recording did it become clear that the accident had taken place 33 kilometres to the north - in Huldange.

The corrected call was not dispatched until 18:24 and the first ambulance reached the scene at 18:33, 26 minutes after the first call. The other emergency services arrived later: SAMU Ettelbruck at 18:55 and the Clervaux ambulance at 19:00. The victim was taken to hospital at 20:10.

CGDIS admitted that the operator made a mistake by confusing two shopping centres with the same name. He did not know Knauf existed in Huldange and assumed the call was for Pommerloch. This error resulted in a 16-minute delay in the arrival of rescuers.
