On 10 December 2024, the Luxembourg Employment Agency (Adem) and Fedil Employment Services (FES) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at improving the integration of job seekers into the labour market. Labour Minister Georges Michaud, who attended the ceremony, stressed that the agreement responds to the challenges of today's labour market and strengthens the interaction between public and temporary employment services.

The main objectives of the agreement are

Incentivising temporary employment

The agreement considers temporary work as a step towards permanent employment, facilitating the acquisition of professional experience and skills.

Simplification of recruitment

FES member companies are committed to submitting job vacancies to the JobBoard platform so that Adem can better understand the current needs of employers and compile a list of shortage occupations.

Support for job seekers

Adem offers targeted training, tailored to employers' needs, to enhance the competitiveness of job seekers.

The agreement emphasises applicants under 30, especially those with little or no work experience. The Youth Guarantee programme, launched in 2013, offers young people under the age of 25 a job or training for four months after losing their job or completing their studies.

The idea of temporary employment supported by the agreement promotes long-term integration into the labour market. As Isabelle Schlesser, Adem's director, noted: "Temporary work plays an important role in helping job seekers gain new skills and experience, which opens the door to stable employment".

The concluded agreement will be reviewed every six months to evaluate the results and make improvements.
