Fintech sector doesn»t get enough qualified employees

Speakers at the Focus on Skills conference in Luxembourg noted that the sector lacks employees with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of technology. The problem can be partially solved at the basic level by attracting more qualified specialists. However, there is a caveat.

In the financial world, simply having a deep understanding of processes and high professional performance isn’t enough. The market asks for specialists with developed emotional intelligence and leadership qualities. The second major problem is the workplace. Most fintech companies in Luxembourg put work within the country as a prerequisite. If this practice was abandoned and employees — hired remotely, things could go uphill for the sector.
