Europe Avenue in Belgium closed in August, the detour to pass through Luxembourg

Europe Avenue (N830) will be completely closed off for cars due to construction work during the entire August. This road is an important transport axis for the Benelux and the neighboring countries. It is actively used by the Belgians, Luxembourgers and French.

Europe Avenue will be closed to build a new section of the railway. It will directly link Athus (Belgium) and Mont-Saint-Martin (France) railway stations. It is not the first time this year that the avenue has been blocked. A part of the construction work has been done at the start of the year. But there was not enough time allocated for its full completion at the time.

During construction the bypass will be situated at the Pétange/E44/Athus interchange, on the Luxembourg side of the border. A separate bypass route will be created for trucks alongside the E411 motorway. This means that in August the traffic in the the south-west of Luxembourg will get really busy.

And in Luxembourg itself, a railway bridge is being built alongside the A3 motorway. It is expected to open this October.
