Fast food joints in Luxembourg are switching to reusable dishes

The new law came into force on January 1. It obliges catering sector to switch to reusable dishes and tableware. This should help reduce waste production and save the environment.

The law itself will be introduced gradually. It is obvious that such radical changes cannot be carried out overnight. Fast food joints will feel them especially sharply.

Many establishments will need dishwashers. Where previously a washer's job was limited to cleaning stoves and tools, reusable containers will now become a part of the routine.

Some companies are skeptical about the initiative. Undoubtedly, everyone supports the idea of protecting the environment, but it brings these joints' future popularity under question. For example, would a tourist visiting the city want to pay a few euros more for reusable dishes, which he most likely will never use again instead of a convenient cardboard pizza box?
