Luxembourg dropped four lines in anti-corruption ranking

The non-governmental organization «Transparency International» provides a regular ranking of countries based on the corruption index of political and administrative authorities.

In 2022 Luxembourg lost 4 positions in one year and is now in 10th place. The first place is held by Denmark, while Somalia is at the bottom of the list.

The small country of Luxembourg hosts almost 17,000 investment funds that manage US$5.4 trillion in assets. And some of these companies have chosen Luxembourg precisely because of given privacy: the law allows companies to avoid disclosure of their beneficial owners. This doesn't help fight the corruption though.
