Luxembourg passport index: what changes through Q3 2023
There have been serious changes in the world passport ranking. For the first time in five years, Japan has lost its status as the absolute leader, giving up the top spot to Singapore, whose citizens can visit 192 of the 227 countries analyzed without a visa.
As a result, many European countries moved up one place. For example, Germany, Italy and Spain, whose citizens can visit 190 countries without a visa sticker in their passport or with a sticker on arrival.
Japan dropped to third place, where it was already joined by Luxembourg, Austria, Finland, Sweden, France and South Korea. These countries have free access to 189 countries in the world.
Last year we told you about Luxembourg's position in the world ranking. This year's data is more complete because it takes into account the indicators of more countries.
