Six and a half euros for a pint: Schueberfouer сriticized for high prices immediately after the opening
The Schueberfouer fair has opened on August 19. Visitors can expect 223 attractions, plenty of entertainment and traditional funfair food. But not everyone liked the high prices for food and drinks. A pint of beer costs six and a half euros, and a bottle of mineral water — up to nine euros. On the very first day of the fair, a lot of annoyed comments from guests complaining about exorbitant prices have appeared on the Internet.
In part, such prices can be attributed to high inflation. But Schueberfouer was famous for its rather inhospitable food prices even years before. This causes particular dissatisfaction this year since Luxembourg has decided against collecting any stall fees on the territory of the fair.
High prices can significantly reduce the number of visitors to Schueberfouer — the economic situation remains difficult for many Luxembourgers. And such expenses at the fair simply do not fit into many a budget. Whether the situation will change because of this public outrage is not yet clear.
However, in addition to expensive entertainment at the fair, this weekend in Luxembourg there are many other interesting events that we have covered in our weekly event round-up.
