The Ministry of Family Affairs and Solidarity has set a new record
On Saturday, March 9, the Orientation Day took place and more than 930 people attended. They all signed the Integration Agreement and became participants in the new Biergerpakt program.
The existence of such programs is extremely important for Luxembourg because of its unique structure. Max Hahn, Minister for the Family, Solidarity, Cohabitation and the Reception of Refugees, pointed this out to the guests. "With 73.7% of the population coming from a migrant background - whether first, second or third generation or much further back - you and I – we are all part of this intercultural mix. This mix of languages and cultures, of different experiences and skills enriches life in our country. Let's make this diversity our greatest strength." the politician added.
The Orientation Day is one of the main stages of the naturalization process in the Grand Duchy. It not only provides essential information about life in the country, but also allows direct contact with the authorities and even career guidance.
The Biergerpakt was an evolutionary and natural development of the old "Welcome and Integration Contract" programme. It is aimed at all adult residents of Luxembourg as well as residents of border areas of other countries.
