The new U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg is not so simple
Donald Trump has announced a new appointment: Stacey Wolfe Feinberg will become the American ambassador to Luxembourg. Former Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, appointed by Joe Biden, will end his four-year cadence. Trump personally announced the news in his Truth Social, confirming the significance of the appointment for his second presidential term, which will begin in early 2025.
Stacy Feinberg is not just a businesswoman, but the heiress to the legendary career of her father, Bob Wolfe. Wolfe, a celebrated attorney and sports agent, represented some of the greatest names in American basketball, including Larry Bird and Julius Irving. After beginning her career at her family's Sports and Entertainment Law Firm, Feinberg successfully transitioned into the investment sector, becoming a fund manager in 1998.
In addition to business, she has actively supported cultural initiatives by producing Broadway productions. This multi-faceted leadership experience, combining finance and creativity, emphasises her competencies as an international spokesperson.
Feinberg is a long-time ally of Donald Trump. She participated in his election campaign and has openly expressed her support. Her political views have also attracted media attention, especially after the assassination attempt on Trump. She resonated with the statement: "Guns don't kill people. Crazy people kill people," which reflected her stance on the gun control debate.
In addition to political loyalty, Feinberg is known for her social activism. She actively fights against anti-Semitism and supports women's entrepreneurship, considering it her mission to strengthen the position of women in business. "I'm here to change the world and empower others," she writes on her Instagram page, where she also mentions family as her main source of inspiration.
The appointment of Stacey Feinberg symbolises a renewed tradition of appointing ambassadors from among the president's close allies. As a person with a strong business background and cultural experience, she can bring a new approach to U.S.-Luxembourg diplomatic relations, especially in the areas of economics and cultural exchange.
