Claude Meisch discusses new solutions in education
Claude Meisch has been head of the Ministry of Education for 10 years. He also joined the new government and made the first statements. According to the Minister, one cannot rest on the laws adopted a few years ago. They need to be constantly adapted, updated, and rethought.
The politician is sure that education is a dynamic sphere that changes almost every year. A vivid example of the "shake-up" of the whole system is the development of AI, and now we need laws to regulate its use.
Claude Meisch also stated that he will pay more attention to literacy. There are now several projects in the ministry that need to be completed and consolidated. One of the most important is the ability to choose the language in which to be taught. A pilot project is expected to start around 2025-2026. Students in the third cycle will be able to choose between French and German.
Attention will also be paid to European schools. Three schools will be opened in Schifflange, Dudelange, and near the capital.
