Luxembourg is testing warning systems

On Monday, 3 February 2025, the Luxembourg government will continue testing the LU-Alert emergency alert system. As part of the test, sirens will be activated and test SMS will be sent out.
- Messages will be sent automatically to all mobile phones connected to the Luxembourg network at the time of the test.
- Receiving an SMS does not require any action on the part of citizens.
- The message will also appear on the LU-Alert mobile app and official website www.lu-alert.lu.
The Government recalls that the system does not require pre-registration - all mobile phone users in Luxembourg are automatically included in the alert system. Tests are carried out monthly to verify the functionality of the infrastructure.
