The MyGuichet.lu national portal has introduced a feature enabling citizens to access their municipal billing history covering a five-year period. This technological solution eliminates the need to use the disparate systems of various local authorities, providing users with a secure point of access to all financial documents.
The service is the result of inter-agency cooperation between the state, local councils and specialist IT organisations. It has been designed to streamline administrative procedures, particularly for those who have changed their place of residence over the past five years or have dealt with several local authorities simultaneously. Information on tax and utility bills is now collated in the user’s personal account, regardless of their current registered address.
The introduction of this tool is seen as the first stage of a large-scale initiative to digitise public services. The project’s primary objective is to improve the speed and transparency of administrative processes. In the near future, there are plans to expand the range of digital services, which will complement the platform’s current functionality and minimise the need to visit municipal offices in person.
