As part of the road infrastructure renewal programme, the Luxembourg Bridges and Highways Authority will begin pavement repairs on the A1 between the Mertert and Wasserbillig junctions. The works will last from Friday evening, 17 October (from 20:00) until Monday morning, 20 October (until 05:00).
To minimise the impact on weekday traffic, the repairs will take place over the weekend, but the restrictions will affect all road users:
- traffic on the A1 motorway will be narrowed to one lane in each direction
- 70 km/h speed limit
- The Wasserbillig exit will be closed, including access to the rest area on the motorway towards Trier
For those who would like to access the Wasserbillig area or use this exit, a diversion via the Mertert junction and roads N1, N10 and CR141B has been organised. Signposts will be placed along the route.
Additionally, preparatory work will begin as early as Friday afternoon and may cause localised traffic difficulties before the main repairs begin.
