The Luxembourg national railway company CFL has announced that from 14 March to 4 April, train services on the Luxembourg-Bacharage-Sanem-Rodanges-Atouz and Luxembourg-Longwy lines will be severely disrupted or even completely stopped. The reason is extensive work to replace 20 railway switches on the section between Luxembourg and Pétange.

Usually such works are carried out during school holidays, when passenger traffic is lower. However, this year the repairs are combined with the already planned works for Easter and also depend on the availability of contractors. For this reason, the works will take place during school hours and schools have already been notified of the potential inconvenience.

To minimise the inconvenience, CFL arranges to replace trains with buses or combined train+bus routes.

Those who regularly use these destinations should take into account possible delays and plan routes in advance.
