Work will continue on the Haute-Syre viaduct (OA1135) on the A1 motorway in Luxembourg from July to September 2025. This is the final phase of a project to replace four expansion joints and will be accompanied by significant traffic restrictions.

The first closures will begin as early as July:

  • From Friday 4 July to Sunday 6 July, traffic on the stretch will be narrowed to one lane in each direction, except during periods of full closures.
  • From Friday 4 July from 19:00 to Saturday 5 July 9:00, traffic towards Luxembourg will be completely closed. The diversions is via the national road N1 from the Potaschberg junction.
  • From Saturday 5 July 20:00 to Sunday 6 July 9:00, there will again be a full closure in the same direction with the same diversions pattern.

On the second weekend, from 11 to 13 July, the motorway exit in the direction from Germany at the Munsbach interchange will be closed from 19:00 to 20:00. A diversion will be organised via the Cargo-Center interchange.

From 11 July to 14 September, the entire section of the A1 via the viaduct will be reversed: one lane in each direction. The Munsbach roundabout in the direction of Germany will be closed alternately.

Full completion of the works and restoration of the speed limit (up to 130km/h) is expected by the start of the 2025/2026 school year.
