Luxembourg events calendar for April 7-10: birds, alive and ceramic, eggs, and Easter

This weekend Luxembourg will celebrate Easter. Not surprisingly, most of the events are dedicated to this particular holiday. Even though half of the country flew away (Easter holiday tradition), we still have many things to do, even without a little vacation. Check out our special Easter events schedule to plan your weekend and catch the most exciting things!

Vögel im «Grund»

Vögel im «Grund» — is an unusual guided tour along the Alzette River, organized by the natural history museum. On this free walk, you can observe the inhabitants of the river banks and find out where rare birds come from to live in Luxemburg. Dress for the weather and arm yourself with binoculars.

Address: Musée national d'histoire naturelle, 25 rue Münster, L-2160 LUXEMBOURG

Easter Safari

The Easter safari is in progress, but the weekend is the best time to participate! During the professionally guided walk, you and your children if you have them, can find unusual animals that live in Luxembourg: lions, lizards, and, of course, little péckvillchen. What are they? Look for the answer down there in the next paragraph.

The tour price is up to 15 euros, but you have to book in advance! It will best suit kids that are 4 to 12 years old. The tour takes 2 hours, with little surprises hidden along the way.

Address: Luxembourg City

Éimaischen

During the Éimaischen festival on Easter Monday, there will be a traditional market held in the center and communes. The small bird-shaped whistles made out of baked clay will be sold on the streets of Luxembourg. These whistles are called péckvillchen. You can buy them at the Fish Market, where they first emerged in 1827. There will also be numerous festivities throughout the city, so you can have fun with fellow citizens.

Address: rue Sigefroi, L-2536 Luxembourg

Luxembourg beautiful cathedrals

Easter remains one of the main religious holidays of Christians. This means that this is the perfect time to visit Luxembourg's many churches and cathedrals. They are beautiful inside as well as outside. You can read more about Easter traditions in the Grand Duchy, as well as find the list of our favorite cathedrals to visit on Easter in the special featured material.

Enjoy your Easter vacation, especially if you stay at home.
