250-kilogram landmine stopped the movement of trains
This morning, train traffic between Luxembourg and Thionville was paralyzed until 7 am. All because of a World War II landmine found on a construction site. A similar landmine weighing 250 kilograms was also found in Luxembourg.
Train traffic has already been restored. However, it is much more difficult to completely remove an old explosive device in a safe manner. This may require several hours of work for the demining service.
