France vows aid to Greece in case of Turkish aggression

Greece has sent official letters to the EU, NATO and the UN asking them to condemn Turkey’s increasingly aggressive behavior, especially against Greece.

On Sunday and Tuesday the Turkish president veiledly hinted at the possible invasion onto his Balkan neighbor’s territory. In response, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias turned to the country’s allies. According to him, if the European bloc does not take any measures, there are all the prerequisites for another conflict like the one in Ukraine. A second full-fledged war on its borders is most certainly not something that Europe wants.

French Minister for Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna promised to help the Greeks in case of a threat to their sovereignty. The same applies for Cyprus. The politician’s statement was broadcasted by the Greek public television channel ERT.
