In addition to the prevention of digital gender violence, the main challenge is the risk of artificial intelligence reproducing gender stereotypes. Therefore, we must continue to raise awareness among young people so that girls and boys benefit from innovation and digitalisation.

Criticism of the politician

In the realm of politics, criticism is a common and frequent occurrence, often arising from differing viewpoints and perspectives. Throughout her tenure in politics, Taina Bofferding has been no exception to this, with certain events sparking controversy and opposition. Here, we highlight two instances that have led to divergent opinions.

One notable point of contention emerged when Taina Bofferding faced criticism from the Democratic Party (DP) and the Christian Social People's Party (CSV). They accused her of opposing a beggar ban, a measure approved by a majority within their ranks. Bofferding, however, had substantial reasons to justify her opposition. According to her, the City of Luxembourg lacks the authority to ban begging outright. The minister argued that the municipal council could only prohibit begging through a police regulation if it posed a threat to public spaces. In her view, simple begging did not meet this criterion. Furthermore, she contended that the ban, as voted upon by the council, would be legally questionable from both a national and international perspective. In addition, it would contravene the European Convention on Human Rights, which specifies that interference with an individual's rights is justified only if begging takes on aggressive forms.

Another contentious situation revolved around the municipality of Diekirch, particularly the former mayor Claude Haagen (LSAP), who intentionally obstructed the execution of a court judgment. This led to strong criticism from the Administrative Court. Taina Bofferding, in her capacity as the Minister of the Interior and the overseeing authority, also faced scrutiny for not compelling the municipality to comply with the court's ruling. However, to make a long story short, the Administrative Court ultimately ruled that Taina Bofferding could not be subject to an appeal to the competent minister, affirming that her decision not to intervene was legally sound.
